How it works
The busywork happens on its own. You stay in charge of what goes in.
- Upload a statement, or snap a receipt. PDF statements, CSV and bank download files, photos of receipts and bills. Bank feeds, so transactions arrive by themselves, are Coming soon.
- BruinLedger sorts it. Every line gets a category, receipts are read and matched, and payments are matched to the invoices and bills they pay. It learns from your choices.
- You approve. Check the list and click Add. Nothing is in your books until you do, and every change is kept in History.
See it for yourself
The real screens, from a sample business. Light or dark, at your desk or on your phone.
A month of transactions, approved in one go
BruinLedger reads the statement, checks that it adds up to the bank’s closing balance so nothing was missed, and suggests a category for every line. You look it over and add them.

Invoices with your name on them
Your details and logo, your terms, totals worked out for you. Email it from BruinLedger or download the PDF, and record the payment when it comes in.

Know where you stand, at your desk or on your phone
Profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and the rest, with every number one click from what’s behind it. On your phone, the month so far is the first thing you see.

Everything a small business needs. Nothing it doesn’t.
No tiers to climb. Projects, time tracking, budgets and as many people as you like are in the one plan, not locked behind a pricier one.
Statements, and bank feeds Coming soon
Upload a PDF statement, CSV or your bank’s download file. BruinLedger sorts every transaction into a category and learns how you like things, and nothing goes in until you approve it.
Receipts, read for you
Snap a photo or upload a PDF (forwarding the email is coming soon). BruinLedger reads the vendor, date and total and attaches the receipt to its transaction.
Invoices that get paid
Your logo, your terms, emailed from BruinLedger with a link to view and download it (paying online is coming soon). Automatic reminders if you want them.
Bills, checks and purchase orders
Track what you owe, pay several bills at once, print checks, and turn a purchase order into a bill when it arrives.
Projects, time and mileage
See profit job by job, track hours and bill them on the next invoice, and log trips for your mileage deduction.
Reports your accountant trusts
Profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, sales tax, 1099s, budgets and a tax summary laid out like your return, with every number one click from what’s behind it.
The same work, for a fraction of the price
To see profit by project and plan a budget, QuickBooks and Xero ask you to move up to one of their top plans. BruinLedger includes it.
Regular US list prices from quickbooks.intuit.com and xero.com, checked October 31, 2026, before any introductory discount. QuickBooks Plus also includes inventory, which BruinLedger doesn’t do yet.
Switch from QuickBooks or Xero in an afternoon
Bring your full history, not just balances. BruinLedger checks your books against your old ones to the cent, marks your accounts reconciled through the day you switch, and carries over the invoices and bills still open.
How switching works →- Export your books from QuickBooks or Xero. BruinLedger tells you which files.
- Drop them in. BruinLedger reads them in your browser and matches your accounts, customers and vendors.
- Check and go. Your reports match your old books, and you carry on from where you left off.
Safe hands for your books
You approve everything
BruinLedger suggests; you decide. Nothing from your bank, a receipt or an import is added until you say so.
Every change on the record
History shows every entry added, changed or voided, by whom and when. Nothing is ever deleted, only voided.
Two views of the same books
Plain language for you; journal, general ledger and trial balance for your accountant. They ask about a transaction, you answer in BruinLedger.
Your sign-in protected
Two-step sign-in with an authenticator app. Bank connections go through Plaid, so BruinLedger never sees your bank password.
Your data stays yours
Never sold, never used to train AI. Download every account, transaction, invoice and contact whenever you like.
Built by a tax preparer
Made by people who prepare returns, so your books arrive at tax time the way your accountant needs them, with a tax summary laid out like the return.
What BruinLedger will never do
Your books aren’t a place to sell you things.
- No upsells or “upgrade to unlock” screens
- No ads, and no loan or financing offers
- No pop-ups or nagging emails
- No surprise price tiers as you grow
Questions people ask first
Will it really save me time?
Most of bookkeeping is typing in transactions and deciding where they go. BruinLedger reads them from your statements, reads receipts and bills, and suggests the category for each line from what you chose before. Your part is looking over the list and clicking Add.
What if it gets a category wrong?
Change it before you add it, and BruinLedger remembers for next time. You can also write your own rules (“anything from Shell is Travel”). After something is added you can still change it, and History keeps a record.
Can I bring my books over from QuickBooks or Xero?
Yes, with your full history. You export a few reports, drop them in, and BruinLedger checks that your balances match your old books to the cent before you carry on. Open invoices and bills come too.
Does my accountant have to pay?
No. Invite your accountant or bookkeeper and they get their own view, with account codes, the journal and trial balance, at no cost.
Is my information safe?
Your books are private to your business and the people you invite. Bank connections, when they arrive, will go through Plaid, so BruinLedger never sees your bank password, and you can turn on two-step sign-in. Your data is never sold or used to train AI.
What happens when the trial ends?
You choose: $29 a month or $290 a year, with everything included. Or download all of your data and leave. There’s no contract.
